FINE ARTS CONTEST
The Florida Collegiate Honors Council is pleased to announce its annual fine art competition for students enrolled in Honors Programs at Florida colleges and universities.
Submission Deadline
January 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Students will be notified of acceptance by February 8, 2024.
Contest Rules
Participants are allowed to submit one piece of art each.
Artwork must be an original piece, completed solely by the participant.
Fine Arts Media allowed includes: Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Pen & Ink, Graphite (Pencil), Charcoal, Photography, and 3-D.
The following specifications for the contest are to be followed:
For Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Pen & Ink, Graphite (Pencil), Charcoal, and Photography
Artwork can be framed and/or exhibition-ready (Hanging mechanisms attached)
Artwork cannot be any larger than 36" x 36"
For 3-D Artwork
Artwork must be freestanding
We will not accept pieces that require electricity, special lighting, or additional support to remain hanging.
Entries must be submitted in JPEG format only.
For 3-D artwork take pictures from multiple angles.
If possible submit high resolution photos.
Please label your JPEG photos with your name, and, if you are submitting multiple photos for 3-D art consideration, a number at the end (ex: John_Smith_1, John_Smith_2).
Awards*
First prize: $150 for the student and certificate
Second prize: $100 for the student and certificate
Third prize: $50 for the student and certificate
Honorable Mention: certificate
*Students must register for and attend the conference to receive awards.
